The College Journal, part of the Wall Street Journal, has a summary of what can be expected from a career in the restaurant business. Not surprisingly salaries vary from $30,000 - $300,000 depending on how successful the establishment is, hours are long, but the benefits are sweet.

“Eating and drinking whatever I want, whenever I want is the best,” says Guy Ravid, owner of NineThirty at the W Hotel in Los Angeles.
